Your Chart Stack: Seven Moving Averages, One Clean Chart

Part 3 ยท Oct 20, 2026

Every lesson from here on refers to the same seven lines. Learn their names and colours once and the rest of the course reads like a conversation.

The stack

Type Length Colour on the lesson chart What it is for
SMA 8 yellow the fastest line; where price is right now relative to the last eight bars
SMA 55 white the medium line; the one the 8 crosses in the Wolf Cross
SMA 200 dark green the long-term line; above it is bull territory, below it is not
EMA 13 teal fast exponential; pairs with the 34
EMA 21 orange the retest line; pullbacks in a trend often touch it
EMA 34 pink medium exponential; pairs with the 13
EMA 200 light green the long-term exponential; compare it with the 200 SMA

Why these numbers? 8, 13, 21, 34, 55 and 200 are Fibonacci numbers or close to them. The course author chose them for that reason; what matters for you is that they are consistent. A moving average only means something when you always look at the same one.

Seven lines is a lot. Paint them all, then switch most of them off again: the point of the exercise is to recognise each colour on sight, not to trade with all seven on.

Where each line lives on WenMoonLambo

  • The lesson chart (this one) has all seven built in with fixed colours, so a lesson can say "the orange 21" and it is always the same line. Switch coins and timeframes with the controls at the top; your study choices survive the switch.
  • The Technical Analysis chart (the TradingView chart on the Technical Analysis page) opens with the 8 (yellow) and 55 (white) already drawn. You can add the others from its Indicators menu (Moving Average and Moving Average Exponential), but that chart cannot colour exponential averages and gives every simple average the same colour, and it forgets added studies when you switch coin or timeframe. Treat it as the place you look at live price, and the lesson chart as the place you study.

Moving averages are context, not buy and sell buttons. No average knows the perfect moment. They tell you which way the tide is running and where a pullback might find a floor.

The wider context: dominance and total market cap

The course also keeps an eye on Bitcoin dominance (Bitcoin's share of the whole crypto market) and total market cap. On this platform those live on the Alt Season Intelligence page, with history, and Bitcoin dominance is also pinned in the header stats. Rising dominance tends to coincide with altcoins lagging; falling dominance with altcoins catching up. That is a tendency the author has observed over several cycles, not a law.

In the lab

Paint the full stack, open Indicators on the chart, and save it as a preset named course stack. Save a second preset with only the 8, 55 and 200 called simple three. From now on either set is one click away on every coin.
