- Continuation: flags, pennants, triangles โ pauses within a trend.
- Reversal: double tops/bottoms, head & shoulders โ the trend losing control.
A pattern only counts when it completes โ i.e. breaks its neckline/level on volume. Anticipating it too early is how people get trapped.
